Member Service Representative
Full-Time Position

Job Summary:

Spirit of Alaska Credit Union is seeking a personable, detail-oriented Member Service Representative to join our front-line Member Service team. In this role, you will process financial transactions in person and by mail, maintain accurate records, and provide outstanding service to our members. You will play a key role in ensuring each member interaction is positive, professional, and efficient.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of one year of customer service experience; prior experience in a financial institution is preferred
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Proficient in using PCs, 10-key, telephone, and other related business equipment and application software and platforms.
  • Ability to multitask and perform in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to lift up to approximately 40lbs. 

 

Job Duties:
Member Transactions

  • Greet all members in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Process cash and check transactions including deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, negotiable instruments, and cash advances, including mail and night drop.  

 

Account Management

  • Accurately post transactions and maintain up-to-date computer records.
  • Update addresses, account closures, or other related tasks.

Daily Balancing

  • Balance cash drawer daily in accordance with Teller Balancing Standards which may include necessary research to resolve discrepancies. Be able to perform at and maintain the 86% teller balancing requirement.

Account Opening

  • Assist prospective members in determining eligibility.
  • Assist members in completing the signature cards.
  • Enter new account information into the system accurately.
  • Open Certificates of Deposit.

Credit Union Products and Services

  • Educate members about credit union products and services.

Security and Workspace Maintenance

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and secure work environment at all times.

Other Duties

  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the success of the Member Service team and organization.

Full-Time Position Hours: Monday – Friday, 9:30 am – 6:30 pm, and rotating Saturdays, 9:30 am – 4:30 pm
