NOTIFY OF TRAVEL
Headed out of state or across the border? Let us know before you go.
To protect your account from potential fraud, we may temporarily block your card if it’s used outside Alaska without advance notice — including travel to Canada. A quick heads-up helps us keep your card working smoothly throughout your trip, wherever the road takes you.
Planning a drive into the Yukon or BC?
We’ve seen higher rates of fraud in some Canadian provinces, so even quick cross-border trips should be on your travel alert.
How to Notify Us About Your Travel Plans
Please provide a valid travel phone number for us to contact you in case we or VISA need to verify a purchase on your card that may look suspicious due to your new location.
Every country outside the U.S. and Canada has all transactions restricted.
To notify us of your travel plans, you can:
- Visit a branch
- Call us at (907) 459-5900
- Add your travel plans in the mobile app under the “Cards” tab.
- Log in to online banking through the website and send us a secure message with your travel details. Online banking verifies your identity at log in, so it is a secure channel to communicate. Use the “Message” link in the upper right-hand corner.
Canada:
- All travel locations (this includes counties in Canada)
- Dates and duration at each location
- If any in the travel party are joint-account holders, include their name.
- A good contact phone number
After notification of travel, we will arrange any necessary exceptions to fraud restrictions in your itinerary, and explain any ATM restrictions you might encounter.
